Library Card hits the summer festivals with new single Art School

Since the release of their debut Nothing, Interesting, Rotterdam’s Library Card has focused heavily on live shows, touring extensively throughout France, Belgium, the UK, Denmark, Austria, and even the United States. Now, the band finally releases Art School featuring Jeroen Reek (Iguana Death Cult) on trombone. The track has already become a fan favorite during their explosive live sets. Out via AT EASE, the single marks a new chapter for a group that has rapidly grown into one of the most exciting acts in the Dutch and international post-punk scene.

Art School
is an uncompromising, high-energy track that fuses angular guitars, incantatory vocals, and a relentlessly driving rhythm. The band dives headfirst into themes of artistic pressure, self-expression, and conformity, delivered in a lyrically charged mantra. Think the raw intensity of Shame or IDLES, paired with the hypnotic repetition of Squid.

The track is a sonic reflection of what it feels like to attend an art school: a messy yet romanticized whirlwind of process, doubt, and obsession. Vocalist Lot van Teylingen explains: “It’s a farce, a maze, a never-ending prayer, but in the end, we absolutely laughed through our tears.”

Library Card has seen rapid momentum over the past year, with appearances at SXSW, ESNS, Left of the Dial, Best Kept Secret, Valkhof Festival, and a wide range of international shows across Germany, Denmark, France, Austria, the UK, and the US. This summer and fall, the band continues their ascent with a string of festival and club performances across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany:
